Simplicity
Published August 4, 2008 Communication , Design , ICT , Technology 0 CommentsTags: apple, experiment, intuitive, iphone, microsoft, mojave, simplicity, vista, windows
Why did I chose this title for the following video? For the reason that if Microsoft would make the features as accessible as Apple does, the users would use them and would know about the power of their products. However, simplicity for me means that the features are easy accessible which comes from a intuitive way of leading the user. As a consequence, if you have an iPhone in your hand you appreciate it straight away.
The following video shows an experiment where random people, which never have used Windows Vista, can have a look at the new Microsoft OS “Mojave” - which is in fact Windows Vista. They are excited about the features
Naturally, these are people which have never used Vista, but even people which have used Vista would be surprised about the features.

Nice graphics on this chocolate tin of the 1970’s. Nevertheless I doubt that it tastes like Swiss chocolate powder.

Icaro Doria is Brazilian, 25 and has been working for the magazine Grande Reportagem, in Lisbon, Portugal, for the last 3 years. He is part of the team (with Luis Silva Dias, João Roque, Andrea Vallenti and João Roque) that produced the flags campaign which has been circulating the Earth in chain letters via e-mail.
Icaro gave us a small statement about the campaign, translated by Isabell Erdmann:
The magazine Revista Grande Reportagem is a Hard Journalism magazine, on the same line as the Times. The idea was to bring across the concept that the magazine offers profound journalism about topics of real importance to the world of today. Read more… See more…
The development of tech companies’ logos

Alex from Neatorama recently posted an interesting article about the evolution of tech companies’ logos. To create a corporate design and most of all the logo of the company is exceedingly difficult which I experienced by myself when we formed our start-up company Join4Music.com. A logo has to express the core message in an easy way, has to be clean and functional, has to show the key benefit (which also comes with the name), has to be timeless i.e. not following a current trend and so on. As you can see; to create a logo includes a bunch of criteria to fulfil. Here is the development of the IBM logo:

Business Cards

The fact that I am currently applying for a job prompts for the first blog entry: Business Cards. I have thought that it would be a good idea to create a business card, although I think that it is kind of odd to have a business card without a company on it… However, “dailypoetics” has an awesome collection of very creative business cards. Here are some examples:
